“Robert Fuster, the ZBA chairman, said he was sad to see the Round Room go because it was ‘iconic,’ and he recalled having birthday parties there… Conklin called it ‘a positive move for the community, the environment and a business owner here in Lenox.’ Considine praised the renovation’s goal of restoring a 1930s look. The board then voted unanimously to approve a modified special permit for the renovation.”

“She plans to replace the Round Room, added in 1963, with a new rectangular-shaped restaurant space featuring updated, modernized windows. The Ostrich Room will remain as is.… Collery said the design for the revamped room is based on a 1938 photo of the glassed-in porch shown to her by Lenox Library historian Amy Lafave. The main entrance to the inn will be reoriented to the east side of the building with a new front porch, and the parking area will be expanded and improved.”
